IMR Helps TYCO Electronics Go Digital

Information Management Company Converts Paper Documents To Digital Images

Harrisburg, PA - Information management provider, IMR, recently completed the conversion of 450,000 test result documents into digital images for TYCO Electronics. The paper documents, which dated back to 1992, consisted of new product functionality, failure testing and metallurgical testing. After the conversion, the new digital images were imported into TYCO's proprietary document management system.

The paper documents, according to Bob Chamberlain, IMR's President, had to first be transferred from TYCO's offices to IMR's Hazleton secure production facility for processing. "The project took about six weeks, and TYCO is extremely pleased with the quality of the results," Chamberlain said adding that "many of our clients are finding the need to convert important documents to electronic files in order to share information between employees and locations more cost efficiently or to reduce the amount of storage space."

TYCO is a $13.0 billion global provider of engineered electronics components for thousands of consumer and industrial products; network solutions and systems for telecommunications and energy markets; undersea telecommunication systems; and wireless systems for critical communications.
