IMR's Work With Allegheny County Selected As AIIM Best Practices Finalist
Document Automation System Speeds Post Election Processing

Harrisburg, PA -A document automation system implemented by the Pennsylvania-based information management company, IMR, for the Allegheny County Controllers Office in Pennsylvania, has been selected as an Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award finalist. IMR worked with the Allegheny County Controllers office to implement a custom system to process election poll worker and constable payments.

Presented by AIIM, the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Association, the Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award recognizes excellence in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) field. The term "Best Practices" denotes a standard of excellence that has been achieved within an organization and refers to a process or implementation that can be quantified, adapted, and repeated.

After each election, Allegheny County faced the challenge of manually processing election poll worker and constable payment forms for over 11,000 workers within 72 hours. The manual processes required hand sorting incoming forms into one of 1,320 wards, keying in data and the manual verification of information from each payment form.

The document automation and data capture solution developed by IMR for the county eliminated the time-consuming manual procedures and allowed for processing of poll worker and constable payments forms in a third of the time previously required. The increased efficiency of the system translates into an 85% reduction in labor costs, which only requires a third of the time to complete.

"Being recognized by AIIM represents the commitment we have to the residents of Allegheny County," said Allegheny County Controller Mark Patrick Flaherty. "Our goal is to provide residents with the best possible services but in the most cost-effective way - and IMR helped us accomplish that with the AnyDoc Software implementation."
