IMR-ASP Web Based Document Management
Info At Work - Reduce Costs & Improve Efficiency
What do an aluminum extrusion company, a regional orthopedic medical practice and a diversified global company have in common? All three are using IMR-ASP, a web based document management solution, to streamline their business process and improve their bottom line.
IMR-ASP is currently being utilized by all three companies because they receive a significant volume of documents and information on a daily basis, which are critical to their business operations. The document types range from purchase orders and invoices to shipping forms and patient records.
Sapa speeds vendor invoice processing
Sapa, one of the world's leading producers of extruded aluminum products, turned to IMR to help them streamline their accounts payable processing. All invoices, whether they are received via mail, E-mail or fax, are imaged and converted into the IMR-ASP system. Once loaded onto the secure Internet based IMR-ASP system, the business critical data can then be accessed and processed within Sapa's information management solution. The web based IMR-ASP system has resulted in significant cost savings, without the need for any capital investment and has increased invoice processing accuracy.
With IMR Application Service Provider (ASP), all types of shared information including documents, databases, images and more can be accessed. IMR-ASP makes it easy to provide all documents to employees, customers and external users. Internet access with a standard browser is all that is required to be able to view, edit and store the information in the IMR-ASP file cabinets from any location worldwide.
Systematizing shipping documents
The most recent company to implement IMR-ASP is a global provider of thousands of residential and commercial products, ranging from specialized equipment to electronics. Since shipping plays such a critical role in the company's daily operations, they worked with IMR's business process consulting team to develop a custom IMR-ASP solution to help track and monitor shipments.
After receipt, all shipping documents are scanned, indexed and imported into the IMR-ASP system. Indexing the documents allows the company's employees to easily search for key information and quickly retrieve shipping documents. The new system allows for real-time access to shipping documents, which has increased employee productivity.
IMR-ASP is intuitive to use and provides rapid access to file cabinets. Users can search for and display documents or add annotations and stamps. The workflow functions enables employees to engage in business processes regardless of location via the Internet or Intranet. Authorized employees can access their images and information 24-7-360 from anywhere Internet access is available.
Orthopedic Institute manages medical records
The doctors at Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania (OIP), a large regional orthopedic medical practice, see thousands of patients each year. For each of those patients, OIP is required to maintain a detailed medical record containing medical history, physician notes, x-rays, test results and more. OIP called on IMR to implement an information management system that would enable them to efficiently manage their extensive patient records.
OIP wanted to reduce the administrative burden of maintaining medical records and insure that their staff could devote more time to their primary responsibility of providing patient care. With the IMR-ASP system, once the patient medical records are scanned and indexed, they are accessible by authorized OIP staff. Patient records can be viewed, annotated and distributed via IMR-ASP. Since the implementation, OIP has seen a marked reduction in staff time devoted to medical record maintenance.
