E-mail Messages Included In Right To Know
One area of the new Right To Know Law that will impact many agencies is the stipulation that E-mail messages are included. The new law does not mean there is wholesale release of E-mail records. Like any other record, E-mails must be included in the review of requested records. The challenge is that many agencies do not currently have an E-mail capture, archiving and search system in place.
IMR's RTK E-mail Archive Solution captures and stores all E-mails sent or received in their native format. E-mail Archive addresses the compliance need to capture, archive, retain and search for corporate E-mail data across an entire organization.
It enables search for an E-mail correspondence or attached document in the archive based on metadata or perform a full-text search on content.
- Automatically captures E-mail for the entire enterprise in one central repository.
- Provides retention and recovery of E-mails to support compliance regulations such as e-discovery.
- Metadata or full-text search on content of both E-mail and attachments.
- Dedicated E-mail database utilizing single instance storage, saving retention space.
- Stubbing Service creates link to archived message via Outlook E-mail client
- Reduces costs associated with the administration and infrastructure required by enterprise E-mail systems.
- Eliminates unreliable backup tapes that do not capture every E-mail communication.
E-mail Archive is a server based solution, which captures E-mails sent or received utilizing the native message format. E-mails are archived behind the scene, as the user does not even know that their E-mails are being archived.
